Niantic has announced a new addition on the #FS event. Art Competition! The winners will be chosen every 3 months and then the following quarter of #FS events will feature the winner’s creation on the #FS media that drops.
The form asks you for the month (if any) that the art is intended for, and a way to upload it, so this appears that it intended to be a drawing or digital piece of work, though you could create a sculpture or mural and take a photo of it.

IngressFS are events that bring agents together and have become an opportunity to create bonds between the two factions through common interests and aspirations.
We are pleased to announce a new element to strengthen and celebrate those bits and pieces that make our communities unite worldwide. Our very first IngressFS Artwork Competition: a competition focused on highlighting themes that are relevant to the global community through original works of art made by agents all over the Earth.
If you can think of something that makes you wonder, that makes you move and see and explore and enjoy the world, please share it with the Ingress Community as a work of art and enter the global competition.
If you would like to participate, please take into account that your submission must be original. Therefore, no copyrighted work other than Ingress materials and the artist’s original creation will be considered for the competition. Also, your work must comply with the Niantic Player Guidelines (e.g. nothing racist/sexist/obscene).
What will be the criteria to select the best IngressFS submissions? The best submissions will:
- have a strong aesthetic appeal
- celebrate the cross-faction Ingress community
- represent the desire to explore new places
- inspire Ingress agents to be physically active
- communicate a feeling of mystery, wonder, or surprise
- have a thematic association with the month or season
This competition will run on a quarterly schedule, choosing 3 winners each quarter. Winners will be chosen by a panel of Niantic and IFS-UN members. The winners will be recognized by Niantic and have their artwork featured at an upcoming First Saturday, including in-game media elements of the artwork.
Cutoff for submissions for the first competition will be July 19th, 5PM Pacific; the winners will be selected by August 4th. Artwork selected in this first competition will be featured as IngressFS media from September to November.
